Boat Tour Valencia Coast — Detailed Route Guide

Three carefully curated routes along the Valencia coast

North Route: Valencia to Sagunto & Canet d'En Berenguer

Distance: 15 nautical miles each way. Duration: 6-8 hours full day. Sail north past the Port of Valencia's impressive container terminal and along the wild coastline towards Sagunto. Stop at the Roman-era port of Sagunto for a swim in calm, sheltered waters. Continue to Canet d'En Berenguer's unspoilt beach for snorkeling over rocky seabed with excellent visibility. This route offers a unique perspective on Valencia's industrial heritage contrasted with pristine natural coast. Difficulty: Easy, suitable for all levels.

South Route: Valencia to Cullera & Gandia

Distance: 20-30 nautical miles each way. Duration: Full day (8 hours). Head south past El Saler and the Albufera Natural Park — Spain's largest coastal lagoon. The water transitions from urban to wild as you pass rice paddies and nature reserves. Cullera's dramatic cliff-side castle is visible from the sea. Continue to Gandia for its famous 7km golden beach. Swim in crystal-clear water and enjoy lunch on board with views of the orange groves lining the coast. Difficulty: Moderate, some open-water exposure.

Offshore Route: Valencia to Tabarca Island

Distance: 65 nautical miles each way. Duration: 2-day trip recommended. Tabarca is Spain's smallest permanently inhabited island and a marine reserve since 1986. The snorkeling here is the best in the Valencia region — posidonia seagrass meadows, grouper, octopus, and barracuda. The tiny fishing village has excellent seafood restaurants. Overnight anchoring in the sheltered bay is magical. This route requires good weather and is best as a 2-day adventure. Difficulty: Advanced, open-sea crossing required.

Day Trip Yacht Valencia — Frequently Asked Questions

For your day trip yacht cruise in Valencia, we recommend bringing swimwear worn underneath comfortable clothing, reef-safe sunscreen with SPF 50 or higher that you should reapply every two hours, quality sunglasses with a securing strap so they do not end up in the sea, and a quick-dry towel as a personal backup though we provide towels on board. We supply all snorkelling equipment including masks, snorkels, and fins in adult and child sizes at no extra charge, as well as fresh drinking water, light snacks, and all safety equipment. Optional but recommended items include a waterproof phone case or action camera for capturing underwater moments, a wide-brim hat or cap with a chin strap because the sea breeze can be gusty, a light jacket or windbreaker for the return sail when the afternoon breeze picks up, deck shoes or sandals with good grip and non-marking soles since black rubber soles can leave marks on the deck, seasickness tablets as a precaution even though coastal waters are typically calm, a change of dry clothes for after swimming, and any personal medications you may need during the day. We recommend not bringing valuables, heavy bags, or items that cannot get wet since sea spray is inevitable. There is dry storage on board for phones and wallets. If you are booking a full-day trip with lunch included, there is no need to bring food unless you have very specific dietary requirements that you have not discussed with us in advance.

Food inclusions depend on which day trip yacht package you choose in Valencia. For the half-day trip of 4 hours, we provide complimentary fresh water, a selection of soft drinks, and a light snack platter including crisps, nuts, fresh fruit, and biscuits — enough to keep you fuelled between swimming stops. Full catering is not included in the half-day price but can be added as an optional upgrade. For the full-day trip of 8 hours, we offer three catering options: bring your own food and drinks at no additional cost — many groups enjoy picking up supplies from the Mercado Central or a supermarket near the marina and creating their own picnic spread on deck; add our Mediterranean tapas lunch for €25 per person, which includes a generous selection of Spanish tortilla, Iberian ham, manchego cheese, grilled vegetables, fresh bread, olives, and fruit, served family-style on deck; or upgrade to our premium paella lunch for €35 per person, featuring an authentic Valencian paella cooked fresh by our on-board chef along with salad, bread, and sangria. Both catering options accommodate dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-specific needs — just let us know at least 48 hours before your trip. For groups celebrating a special occasion, we can also arrange a premium seafood platter, sushi selection, or a custom menu. Drinks packages are available as add-ons for both half-day and full-day trips: a basic drinks package at €15 per person includes beer, wine, and soft drinks, while a premium package at €25 per person adds cocktails and quality Spanish wines.

Absolutely, children are very welcome on our day trip yacht cruises in Valencia, and we have extensive experience hosting families with children of all ages from toddlers to teenagers. Our yachts are thoroughly safety-checked and equipped with life jackets in all sizes including infant and child sizes from 10 kilograms upwards. Before departure, our captain conducts a friendly safety briefing that includes age-appropriate instructions for younger passengers, explaining where to hold on, which areas of the yacht are off-limits, and what to do if they feel unwell. For families with children under 6, we recommend our half-day morning departure, which offers calm seas, gentler sunshine, and a relaxed pace with extra time at the swimming stop. Our crew keep a watchful eye on young swimmers and can provide additional supervision when parents want to relax. We carry an inflatable dinghy, paddleboard, and snorkelling equipment in child sizes, all of which are hugely popular with kids. The swimming stops at sheltered coves with sandy bottoms and shallow, crystal-clear water are always a highlight for families — children can wade, splash, and explore safely while parents enjoy the scenery from the yacht or swim alongside. For older children and teenagers aged 8 to 17, the sailing experience itself is endlessly fascinating. Our skipper is happy to let older kids take turns at the helm under close supervision, try their hand at hoisting sails, and learn basic navigation — a genuine hands-on adventure that makes for incredible holiday memories. We do not charge extra for children and infants under 2 travel free.

Seasickness on our day trip yacht cruises in Valencia is genuinely rare, and the vast majority of our guests — including many who describe themselves as prone to motion sickness — have no problems at all during the trip. There are several specific reasons for this. First, the Valencia coastline is sheltered from prevailing Atlantic swells by the Balearic Islands, meaning the waters are significantly calmer than open ocean or exposed coastline. During the main sailing season from May to October, sea conditions are typically flat calm to gentle, with wave heights rarely exceeding half a metre in the coastal waters where we operate. Second, our day trip routes stay close to shore, usually within 1 to 3 nautical miles of the coastline, where the water is at its calmest. Third, we make regular swimming stops every 45 to 90 minutes, which breaks up the sailing and gives everyone a chance to get in the water, stretch, and reset — this natural interruption pattern means sustained sailing time is never more than an hour at a stretch. If anyone in your group is concerned about seasickness, here are our tried-and-tested recommendations: take an over-the-counter seasickness medication such as Dramamine, Stugeron, or meclizine at least two hours before boarding; eat a light meal before the trip rather than sailing on an empty stomach; stay on deck in the fresh air where you can see the horizon rather than going below into enclosed cabin spaces; avoid reading or looking at screens during sailing; and stay hydrated with water rather than alcohol during the early part of the trip. Our crew carry backup seasickness medication, ginger chews, and acupressure wristbands on board at no charge. In the rare event that a guest does feel unwell, the captain can adjust the route to even calmer waters or shorten the trip.

Our day trip yacht fleet in Valencia includes a range of vessels to suit different group sizes, and the exact capacity depends on which yacht is assigned to your booking. Our standard day trip yachts comfortably accommodate 6 to 8 guests, which provides a spacious and comfortable experience with plenty of room on deck for sunbathing, socialising, and moving around freely during sailing and at swimming stops. For groups of up to 10 guests, we have several larger yachts available that maintain the same level of comfort while accommodating the extra numbers. For groups of 10 to 12, our largest day trip vessels offer a genuine party-size experience with a spacious aft deck, swim platform for easy water access, and multiple seating areas. We generally recommend a maximum of 8 guests for the best experience on a half-day trip and up to 12 for a full-day trip where the longer duration and multiple stops mean the yacht never feels crowded. If your group exceeds 12, we can arrange a multi-yacht day trip where two boats sail together along the coast — this is a fantastic option for birthday groups, corporate outings, or large family gatherings. The boats can sail in formation, rendezvous at the same swimming spots, and even host a friendly race along the coast. For the most personalised experience, private charters for 2 to 4 guests are also available at a premium rate, giving you the entire yacht to yourselves with a very exclusive feel. The price per person decreases significantly with larger groups since the yacht charter fee is per boat rather than per person. Contact us with your group size and we will recommend the ideal yacht and provide an accurate quote.

Absolutely! Our skipper will discuss the route with you before departure and can adjust stops based on your preferences, weather, and conditions. Want to spend more time swimming? Less time sailing? We're completely flexible.

Yes, masks, snorkels, and fins are provided for all guests at no extra cost. We carry sizes for adults and children. We also have a paddleboard and inflatable dinghy on most boats.

Small to medium dogs are welcome on most of our yachts with advance notice. We ask that they wear a life jacket (we have doggy life jackets on board) and that owners bring any food, water bowls, and towels needed. A surcharge of €30 applies for deep cleaning after.

Half-day trips (4 hours) typically include sailing, one swimming stop, and light refreshments. Full-day trips (7-8 hours) include multiple stops, lunch on board, more distant destinations, and a more relaxed pace. We strongly recommend full day if it's your first sailing experience.

We sail in wind up to Force 5 (20 knots) but cancel for stronger conditions, thunderstorms, or significant swell. Safety always comes first. If we cancel due to weather, you receive a full refund or free rescheduling. We monitor conditions closely and will contact you the evening before if there's any concern.
